Our S.E.A Mission: Sustainable, Environmental Action is being introduced at DIBS this year.

The show features a programme of initiatives to promote sustainability of our oceans - combining community, creativity, and a love for the marine world.

Utilise the ocean's capacity to sustainably improve economies while tackling climate change, food security, and biodiversity.

Here are a few initiatives and partners for SEA Mission at DIBS

  • Dubai Can

    Dubai Can is a sustainability initiative by the Crown Prince of Dubai that aims to protect the environment by reducing the use of single-use plastic water bottles all across the city. Since the launch of the Dubai Can sustainability initiative, there has been a saving of more than 5 million 500ml single-use plastic water bottles at the public fountains across the city.

  • Trust your water

    Trust Your Water is a water solution company with expert personnel who have a thorough knowledge of water purification and sanitation. With a passion to participate in UAE’s on-going green initiative, TYW have partnered with DIBS to provide filtered water throughout the show at water stations for every visitor to use and refill their bottles.

  • SunKiss Suncare

    Taking extra care every step of the way, SunKiss is created with Sustainability and CSR in mind : reef friendly formulations, employee wellness programme, proudly made in the UAE minimising the carbon footprint, and presented in aluminium - refillable, reusable and recyclable – bottles.

  • Ethical Yacht Wear

    Ethical Yacht Wear is extremely proud to be leading the industry with a brand and a movement that takes pride in the clothing we supply, the planet we sail around and the oceans we love. We don’t just stop there, we also give back a percentage of profits from every sale to ocean clean up and research. We ONLY supply uniform made with 100% organic cotton or recycled material. We have already sponsored the removal of 9 tones / 9000kgs of plastic out of our oceans, that is the equivalent on 640,684 plastic bottles!

  • GEMS

    DIBs is about connecting people to the ocean and to each other; the ocean is a way of life and we talk about the experience at DIBs as a lifestyle. Over 40 UAE schools in the GEMS Education network will take part in a DIBS-led art competition to celebrate World Whale Day. A school of whales crafted from recyclable materials will go on display at DIBS 2023, along with posters created by students to promote sustainability.

  • Turtle Rehabilitation Program

    Since its inception in 2004, the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project has rehabilitated an incredible 1,600 turtles, releasing them back into their natural habitat. Cutting edge technology allows the project to monitor released turtles’ progress and number of them have been fitted with satellite transmitters.   • Arabian Ocean Rowing Team

    In Jan 2023 completed 5,252 un-aided row across the Atlantic. In partnership with unep clean seas initiative. Come to hear about their journey and sustainability efforts.

  • Sustainable Food

    All our food outlets will serve locally sourced produce options along with vegetarian choices, all containers will be recyclable or reusable

  • Reduce, Reuse, Recycle

    Reduce, reuse, recycle – that’s our mantra for all show elements. We have assessed all aspects of the show to become sustainable and environmentally friendly from installing water stations throughout the show, assessing our electricity usage and wastage to name a few.
